Mount Batok

Mount Batok is one mountain that lies in the Tengger Mountains has 2440 meters above sea level. As the origin of the name of the Tengger, Mount Batok has its own story.

It is said that Mount Batok formed by throwing shells (coconut shell) that is used to dredge the sand by a pirate magic for failing to ful fill his promise to Roro Anteng. The promise is making the oceans in the middle of the mountain as a condition of applying for Roro Anteng. The story Roro Anteng is similar to  Legend of Roro Jonggrang at Prambanan Temple.
