Goa Cemara Beach

Goa Cemara Beach are located in Patehan hamlet, Gadingsari village, Sanden sub-district, Bantul regency. Goa Cemara is a grove of Cemara Udang trees that make up the hole in the middle like a cave.

According to locals, roughly between the years 2000-2001 carried out ways to break the wind (wind barrier) to prevent erosion of sand dunes that exist. Finally selected Cemara Udang trees (Casuarina equessetifolia) are able to withstand the wind and can live on the coast. Then do the planting thousands of seedlings and because spacing is too close to form such a cave and eventually named the Goa Cemara.
